Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Keleştemur graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 1979. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine between 1980-1984, he started working as an assistant professor at the same university in 1988. In 1990, he was promoted to associate professor, and in 1995 to professor. He worked at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty and London University St. Bartholomew's Hospital Endocrinology departments. He served as the chairman of the Turkish Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism between 2006-2008. He served as a board member of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA) between 2002 and 2006 as well as the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) between 2005 and 2009. He was a member of the advisory board of the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS). Prof. Dr. Fahrettin Keleştemur was elected as a member of the Pituitary Society Board of Management in 2015. In 2012, he became a full member of TUBA. He received the 2013 Bayındır Medicine Award and the 2014 TÜBİTAK Science Award. He served as the Rector of Erciyes University between 2008 and 2015. In June 2015, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Turkish Health Institutes (TÜSEB). In 2018, he was elected as a member of Academiae Europaea (The Academy of Europe). Since 2018, he has been working as the Medical Coordinator of Yeditepe University Hospitals.
