Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a problem that affects 2.5 million people worldwide, most of whom are young and productive. Moreover, since it is a disease of young people, it is of great concern to public health. In order to raise awareness on this issue, a meeting for patients and their relatives will be held on Sunday, July 7, in cooperation with the Turkish Multiple Sclerosis Association and Yeditepe University Hospitals.
Pointing out that there have been significant developments in the diagnosis and treatment of MS, especially in recent years, Yeditepe University Hospitals Neurology Specialist Prof. Dr. Rana KARABUDAK pointed out that the earlier the disease is diagnosed and treatment is started, the more effective results can be obtained. At this point, Prof. Dr. KARABUDAK draws attention to the importance of increasing the awareness level of patients and their relatives. Dr. KARABUDAK said, "In parallel with the increase in awareness among patients and the development of treatment options in this disease, where genetics are effective, MS has become a treatable disease for approximately 60 percent of patients today."
