The Department of Pediatric Surgery of Yeditepe University Hospital performs outpatient follow-up and treatment of all surgical problems related to the digestive system, urinary tract, and non-cardiac thoracic cavity in children from the prenatal period to the age of 18.
In addition to open surgical procedures, many endoscopic and laparoscopic interventions can be performed in the department. It provides services in coordination with other branches on issues such as congenital open spinal cord or night urination, which is common in children.
In the hospital, a significant portion of pediatric operations consists of day-to-day surgeries (inguinal hernia, hydrocele, undescended testicle, circumcision, catheter placement, endoscopies) where the patient is sent home on the same day. Thanks to the special pain measures taken, there is no pain problem after surgery, in the hospital, and at home.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery, together with the Department of Urology in the field of pediatric urology, performs surgical and endoscopic treatment of congenital abnormalities (cystic kidney diseases, obstruction and enlargement of the urinary tract, urinary escape from the bladder to the kidneys, bladder abnormalities, penile abnormalities, lack of urinary hole) and subsequent problems (stone, trauma).
