Stating that one of the most important reasons for the spread of the disease in children is that they are sent to school when the child is sick, Prof. Dr. Filiz Bakar: “When the child shows some signs of improvement, if he goes to school immediately, he can infect the people he comes in contact with at school.”
At this point, underlining that the most important mistake made by parents is to use unnecessary drugs to relieve symptoms, Prof. Dr. Filiz Bakar: “However, since the majority of infections are viral infections, there is no need to use antibiotics. On the contrary, unnecessary antibiotic use increases resistance to antibiotics. However, if the child is very restless due to fever and pain, painkillers and antipyretics can be used. At this point, it would be best not to use unnecessary drugs and to apply to the doctor on time.”
Stating that it is possible to protect from infectious diseases, especially influenza, with simple measures to be taken, Prof. Dr. Filiz Bakar lists some of the measures as follows:
