What is Pediatric Rheumatology?
Pediatric Rheumatology is a specialized field encompassing the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of rheumatological diseases in childhood . The scope of pediatric rheumatic diseases is quite broad, including multisystem diseases characterized by acute and chronic inflammation of the musculoskeletal system (joints and muscles), blood vessels, and skin . Therefore, it is among the top 5 most common reasons for visits to pediatric clinics.

Many of these diseases present with systemic problems in addition to muscle and joint symptoms.
