Treatment of Urinary System Stones with Thulium Fiber Laser

Treatment of Urinary System Stones with Thulium Fiber Laser

Thulium Fiber Laser (TFL), urinary system stones (kidney, urinary tract, and bladder stones) endoscopic treatment's latest technology. This technology offers more effective and faster results compared to traditional methods, allowing stones to be fragmented into smaller pieces (dusting), thereby facilitating their expulsion through the urinary tract and increasing the stone-free rate..

What is Thulium Fiber Laser?

Thulium Fiber Laser works at a wavelength highly absorbed by water. This feature makes TFL ideal for the effective treatment of stones and other urological tissues. Its ability to use small fiber diameters allows it to pass through thinner endoscopes and effectively reach stones within the kidney, where they can be pulverized..

What are the Benefits (Advantages) of Thulium Fiber Laser in Stone Treatment?

Finer Dusting

TFL, stones into smaller fragments compared to other methods, facilitating their easy expulsion through urine. This method ensures that a significant portion of patients remain stone-free after the operation.

High Stone-Free Rate:

Thanks to the easy expulsion of small stone fragments, a significant portion of patients achieve a stone-free condition after the operation.

Shorter Operation Time:

The faster fragmentation of stones with TFL shortens operation times and accelerates the patient's recovery process..

Less Retro-Pulsion:

During stone fragmentation, TFL generates less retro-pulsion (stone recoil), allowing the stones to remain in the desired area and be broken more effectively.

Patient Experience and Safety:

TFL applications are minimally invasive and generally associated with low complication risks. Patients typically experience minimal discomfort post-procedure, and most can be discharged shortly after the procedure to return to their daily lives. Thulium Fiber Laser provides a strong and effective solution for the treatment of urinary system stones. This technology offers significant advantages in effectively fragmenting kidney stones into sand-like particles, improving patient comfort, and increasing stone-free rates. Remember to consult your doctor for more information about treatment options.
