Providing hundreds of scientists with education and giving life to thousands of patients, Prof. Dr. Gazi Yaşargil is the founder of modern neurosurgery in the world. Prof. Yasargil is called the “Brain Surgeon of the Century” by the American Association of Surgeons.
The 95th birthday of this great scientist, who was born in Lice, Diyarbakır on July 6, 1925, was celebrated with a scientific meeting attended by over 10,000 neurosurgeons from all over the world.
In the international "webinar" titled "Microneurosurgery - Past, Present & Future", Prof. Yaşargil once again shared his professional experience and knowledge with neurosurgeons all over the world. Meeting attendants as speakers are as follows: Prof. Ossama Al Mefty from Harvard University, Professor Ali Krisht from Neuroscience Arkansas Institute of Neuroscience, Paulo Kadri from Mato Brazil Grosso do Sul University, and Prof. Uğur Türe from Yeditepe University. A record number of scientists from all over the world showed great interest in this international meeting, which was organized as a "webinar" due to the pandemic.
The great scientist, who devoted his whole life to the development of modern neurosurgical science, added a new one to his works these days. Prof. Yaşargil completed the 7th volume of the series of" Microneurosurgery" books published in previous years during the pandemic. Today, at the age of 95, Prof. Dr. M. Gazi Yaşargil continues his studies in the field of micro neurosurgery, education, teaching, and production in this field without interruption. We wish Prof. Dr. Yaşargil many healthy and productive years.
