In order to achieve the goal of healthy aging, education, and awareness activities are important. The School of Healthy Aging, which will carry out studies in line with this goal, carries out its activities within the Department of Internal Diseases.
The target audience of Yeditepe University Healthy Aging Course is aging individuals, families who have to take care of their elderly parents, elderly individuals themselves, and healthcare professionals operating in this field.
Healthy Aging Course Curriculum:
- Healthy eating,
- Age-appropriate exercises,
- Dementia, prevention of chronic diseases and appropriate treatment methods,
- Patient, doctor, and family cooperation in the follow-up of chronic diseases,
- Early detection programs,
- Vitamin and mineral support,
- Risks in multiple drug use,
- Hormone disorders in old age (thyroid, diabetes, adrenal gland),
- Protection and improvement of sensory functions,
- Brain health,
- Emotional health,
- Immune system of elder individuals,
- Critical diseases with different symptoms in elder individuals,
- Vertigo, syncope, balance disorders, and falls,
- Urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and constipation,
- Is there an anti-aging drug? What does evidence-based medicine say?
The lectures to be given by Prof. Dr. Yaşar Küçükardali will be held once a month at Yeditepe University Kozyatağı Hospital.
Participation in the program, which will be announced in advance, is limited to 75 people. The program will start when the number of participants exceeds 10 people.
