Baby-Friendly Hospital

Yeditepe University Hospitals view breastfeeding as an integral part of healthcare services; they aim to ensure that every mother is informed about this issue from birth and supported during the breastfeeding process.
As a result of the work carried out with this understanding, Yeditepe University Hospitals were awarded the "Baby-Friendly Hospital" title by the Ministry of Health in 2009.

The "Baby-Friendly Hospital" program is an international initiative developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF, aiming to support the feeding of babies with breast milk, the optimal form of nutrition from the first days of life.

As Yeditepe University Hospitals;

• We support every mother in learning and sustaining breastfeeding,
• We initiate and maintain mother-baby contact immediately after birth,
• We increase the knowledge and awareness level of our healthcare staff through continuous training,
• We maintain practices that promote breastfeeding at the societal level.

As Yeditepe University Hospitals, we continue to maintain our "Baby-Friendly Hospital" title through sustainable practices to promote breastfeeding.
