Career Summary:

Assoc. Prof. Özlem Doğan Ural is a specialist in medical microbiology, with a particular focus on medical mycology, working on antifungal resistance, molecular diagnostics, and translational therapeutic approaches. Following her medical degree, she completed her residency in medical microbiology and a subspecialty in medical mycology at Hacettepe University, and fulfilled her compulsory service at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2022, served as a faculty member at Koç University School of Medicine, and held responsibilities in both the Mycology Unit and the BSL-3 laboratory; she also gained international research experience at Karolinska Institutet in Sweden. Conducting clinical and translational research primarily on Candida species and antifungal resistance, Dr. Doğan Ural has numerous international publications and extensive experience in scientific projects.
