JCI Accreditation

Yeditepe University Hospital and Affiliated Institutions are the first Turkish University Hospitals Group to receive JCI (Joint Commission International) Accreditation certificate for the first time in all standards with its entire system.

Joint Commission International (JCI) is a non-profit, independent, international accreditation organization focused on improving the quality and safety of healthcare services. JCI is the international division of JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), the world's largest accreditor, which accredits approximately 18,000 healthcare institutions in the USA.

Why JCI Accreditation Standards?

JCI Accreditation standards consider the hospital as a whole and build patient care rules on this basic idea. Therefore, JCI standards focus on processes related to patient care quality and patient safety.

  • A common service of the same quality is provided in all hospitals and polyclinics.
  • It is traceable, measurable, and open to continuous improvement.
  • Health services are provided by adhering to the principle of Patient Rights and Responsibilities.
  • Effective communication and coordination are ensured between all healthcare professionals and patients and their relatives.
  • It is ensured that patients and their relatives adapt to changing conditions, their expectations are met and their satisfaction levels are increased.
  • With an interdisciplinary approach in service delivery, when necessary, opinions from all branches related to the disease are taken and treatment is directed with joint decisions and teamwork is strengthened.
  • Periodically reviews patient safety goals and creates new goals to ensure patient safety and against risks that may develop.
