Haluk Topaloglu, MD has held the position of Professor of Pediatrics at Hacettepe University School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey since 1996. After completing his residency in pediatrics at Hacettepe University Children’s Hospital in 1982, he completed a fellowship in child neurology at the University of Calgary Department of Pediatrics in Alberta, Canada in 1985. He then held the Christine Saunders Memorial Fellowship in Neuromuscular Disorders at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School of Hammersmith Hospital, Department of Paediatrics and Neonatal Medicine in London, England, in 1995. Professor Topaloglu’s research interests include pediatric neuromuscular disorders, neurogenetics, and developmental aspects in child neurology.
He is a board member of the International Child Neurology Association (ICNA), Infantile Seizure Society (ISS), and the World Muscle Society (WMS). He is a member of the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA). Dr. Topaloglu is the recipient of the Gaetano Conte Academy prize in 2015 from the Mediterranean Society of Myology (MSM). He has published more than 250 articles, his h factor is 52.
