Since polycystic ovary syndrome involves more than one system in the body, a treatment to be applied only to the patient's complaint will not solve the basis of the problem. Therefore, these patients may lose time by visiting many doctors and hospitals in the long term. A multidisciplinary approach is the most ideal method in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome.
Adopting this vision, examination, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients are carried out with the common approaches and cooperation of endocrinology, obstetrics, and dermatology specialists in Yeditepe University Hospitals Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and Hirsutism Clinic. At the first examination of the patient, there are an endocrinologist and an obstetrician. Treatment is shaped by the joint decision of these specialists, and if there is a problem of hirsutism (excessive hair growth) or acne, the dermatologist is also included. Long-term follow-up and control examinations of the patient are carried out together by these specialists.
