What Is Algology?

Algology (Pain Medicine) is a branch of science that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of all types of chronic pain, including severe pain for which the underlying cause cannot be determined. One of the main tasks of algology is to identify the root cause of a person's pain. Once the cause is determined, the algologist creates a personalized treatment plan tailored to the patient's needs. Various methods and approaches, including lifestyle changes, may be used together in pain treatment.
