The formation and development of the human body encompasses multifaceted processes extending from cells to tissues and organs. In the Medical Histology and Embryology Department of Yeditepe University Hospitals, the microscopic characteristics and developmental stages of these structures are addressed at the cellular and molecular level. In this direction, examinations and studies are carried out on the structural properties of cells, tissues, and organs, as well as prenatal development processes.
Medical Histology and Embryology is a branch of science that addresses the microscopic structure of the human body and the prenatal development process at the level of cells, tissues, and organs. While histology examines the microscopic characteristics of the structures that make up the body, embryology examines the development process that begins with fertilization and continues until birth.
In the field of Medical Histology and Embryology, the structure, organization, and functions of cells and tissues, as well as the developmental processes of organs, are examined. In addition, developmental events that occur from fertilization to birth and the underlying causes of abnormal developments that may arise during this process are also among the working subjects of the field.
