Career Summary:

Dr. Veysel Umman completed his secondary education at American Robert College in 2004 and his university education at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2010. In 2008, he worked as an observer and research assistant at Los Angeles USC - University Hospital Keck School of Medicine, in 2010 at Cornell University - Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and in 2010 at Yale University. Between 2010 and 2013, he worked under Prof. Dr. Şükrü Emre at Yale University - Organ Transplantation Department, passed the USMLE exams in 2012 and received the ECFMG board certificate, and completed the Yale University “Postdoctorate Research Fellowship” program in 2013. Between 2014 and 2019, he completed his Specialization in Medicine at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine and received the title of General Surgery Specialist. In 2019, he received training on Hepatopancreaticobiliary and Robotic Surgery at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany under Prof. Dr. Johann Pratschke. He completed his compulsory service at Fatsa State Hospital between 2019-2021. From June 2021 to October 2023, he worked as a lecturer at Ege University - Organ Transplantation Application and Research Center and General Surgery Department. 

In 2023, he received training in laparoscopic and open liver transplantation and hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery at Malatya - İnönü University Liver Transplant Institute and Asan Medical Center in Seoul, South Korea and participated in clinical meetings and surgeries. Afterwards, she started to work as a lecturer at Izmir University of Economics and took part in the opening of the newly opened organ transplant center of Medical Point hospital and worked there for 1 year. In 2024, he participated in surgeries, scientific meetings and training on Laparoscopic, Robotic Liver Surgery and Hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery at Tokyo Women's Medical University and other centers in Tokyo. 

He has 41 National and International Congress Proceedings, 31 Domestic and Foreign publications, 8 Domestic and Foreign book chapters and more than 25 publication referees and still continues to referee publications in scientific journals and continues his duties and academic studies in the Education commission of the HPB association.
