Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology deals with the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. When necessary, advanced laboratory techniques and molecular methods are used to plan the diagnostic process. The Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Department at Yeditepe University Hospitals also provides consultancy services on vaccination, prevention methods, and travel medicine against infectious diseases.

Hospital-acquired infections, one of the most significant problems in hospitals in recent years, have been prevented at Yeditepe University Hospitals through comprehensive measures in both hospital infrastructure and operational principles. An Infection Control Committee has been established within the hospital, ensuring patients receive care in a hygienic environment throughout their treatment. In a first for Türkiye, all patient beds are equipped with a high-temperature water spray system for cleaning. Air and surface disinfection is carried out using the most up-to-date methods.
