Infectious Diseases are defined as a group of diseases that are common in all countries of the world despite rapid developments in medical technology and can cause death.
Although there are different infections in various geographies, even in developed countries, a wide range of infectious diseases, from tuberculosis to viral hepatitis, is common and requires rapid diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In the Infectious Diseases Department of Yeditepe University Hospital; outpatient or inpatient diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of infectious diseases such as fever, cold, influenza, jaundice (hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and others), AIDS (HIV) and other viral diseases, rash diseases, diarrhea, food poisoning, parasitic diseases, systemic fungal infections, meningitis. The advanced laboratory techniques and molecular methods required for the diagnosis of some diseases can be performed in hospital laboratories and allow rapid treatment.
The hospital also provides consultancy services on travel medicine, vaccination against infectious diseases, and other protection methods.
In recent years, all precautions have been taken as hospital infrastructure and working principles to prevent hospital infections, which is one of the most important problems in hospitals, from being seen in Yeditepe University Hospital. Infection Control Committee has been established in the hospital and patients are served in a hygienic environment throughout their treatment. For the first time in Turkey, all patient beds can be washed with a high-temperature water spray system. Air and surface disinfection is performed with the most up-to-date methods.
