Mobile phones need to be cleaned regularly. Pointing out that mobile phones may pose a risk in the transmission of the new coronavirus if they are not used properly, Yeditepe University Koşuyolu Hospital Clinical Microbiology Specialist Prof. Dr. Aynur Eren Topkaya gave the following information:

“We touch all surfaces of phones with our hands. We can even have our phones in our hands for several hours during the day. If hand hygiene is not taken care of, when mobile phones are held after touching contaminated places, the virus can remain alive on the surfaces of the phones for several hours. In this case, the possibility of infection may increase when the phone gets close to the areas around the mouth and nose in the facial area.”

Stating that cleaning the surfaces of mobile phones in a way that will not damage the device would be beneficial for this reason, Prof. Dr. Topkaya said, “At this point, it will be sufficient to wipe with solutions recommended for hand antisepsis, hand antiseptics or alcohol-based antiseptics or cologne for cleaning at the intervals of several hours. But even more important is to pay attention to hand hygiene. It is useful to try not to hold mobile phones for a long time when unsafe and unknown places are touched. We should also pay maximum attention to hand hygiene. In places where hand washing is not possible, hands should be cleaned with disinfectants. We are in a period where the spread can be faster. For this reason, it is useful to clean mobile phones as well.” 

When the virus is eaten, it is not transmitted, it has to be breathed. Even if it is eaten while on a product in any way, it is killed by stomach acids. However, when inhaled, the virus descends into the lungs, causing pneumonia. However, the products still need to be cooked as much as possible.
