The average duration of your inpatient treatment in our hospital for Bone Marrow Transplantation is one month. However, this duration may vary depending on your situation.
In the Inpatient Department of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit, there are a total of 13 rooms with HEPA filter, of which 3 are suites and 10 are standard rooms. The rooms have their own bathroom/WC, refrigerator, television, bed for the companion, and a cupboard for your personal belongings.
You can use the internet free of charge by creating your own password during your stay in the patient unit.
In our hospital, mealtimes for patients and companions are 07:00 in the morning, noon, and 19:00, and there are two intermediate meals at 10:00/22:00. You can forward all your questions and problems about meals to your nurse.
During your stay in the unit, you can use our kitchen and use the microwave oven, coffee, and tea maker.
Since your hospital stay will be long, you should bring enough clothes with you and you can keep your hobby materials with you so that you do not get bored in time (computer, book, magazine, etc.).
Since your bedding and towels will be changed every day and in case of extra need, you will not need to bring them with you.
The cleaning of the belongings of our patients coming from abroad and from outside the city is done by our institution.
You do not need to bring your regular medications with you. It will be enough just to have the medication names and usage patterns with you as a list.
It would be appropriate for you to stay with a companion during your inpatient treatment in our hospital for bone marrow transplantation. For this reason, you will need to organize a relative who can stay with you for a month without going out. Your companion should not care for anyone else and should not smoke.
Your companion needs to be in good physical and mental health so that they can assist you in activities such as eating, drinking, bathing, walking, and providing psychological support, under the guidance of a healthcare professional.
During your stay in the hospital, you should prepare the name and contact information of the people who will donate blood to you in case of your urgent need for blood, and determine a responsible person to organize it.
In order to contribute to the success of the treatment during your stay in the hospital, you must pay attention to the following rules.
In order to protect you and our other patients from infection, no visitors are accepted in the department where you will be admitted. It is also forbidden to see the relatives, even for a short time. Do not be insistent on this issue and inform your relatives about the issue.
Cut your hair (completely if possible) before the day of hospitalization, as your hair may fall out due to chemotherapy treatment. Male patients should also cut their beards and bring an electric shaver, if any.
During your stay in the hospital, it is necessary to ensure your body is cleaned every other day. You can get support from our nurses in this regard.
The air in our corridors of the transplantation unit is cleaned with a HEPA filter system so that you can walk and exercise comfortably. However, it will still be beneficial to use a mask when you go out of the room.
It is strictly inconvenient and forbidden to eat raw vegetables, fruits, or any food during the hospitalization without the control of the health personnel. You can bring 500 ml plastic bottles of water, tea bags, coffee, yogurt (probiotics), ayran, kefir, milk, bread sticks, or crackers. Check the expiration dates of the products. And if there is any other product you would like to bring, please consult your doctor or dietitian.
As the Adult Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit team, we are here for you to have a comfortable and peaceful treatment process, both medically and socially.
