How are Direct Extremity Radiographs Performed?

PROCEDURE DIRECT RADIOGRAPHS OF THE EXTREMITIES
DESCRIPTION: The area to be examined is placed in the appropriate position by radiotechnologists and the shots are taken.
ADVISORY Not required.
DIETARY RESTRICTION: Not required.
PATIENT PREPARATION No preparation is required.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Pregnancy or suspected pregnancy is an absolute contraindication.
CONTRAST: No contrast material is used
AVERAGE PROCESSING TIME: 5-10 minutes
TRANSPORT: Generally there are no features, but depending on the patient's condition, it is done with a wheelchair or stretcher if necessary.
POST-PROCEDURE INFORMATION: The patient can resume normal daily activities. The examination is evaluated and reported by the Radiology specialist. The films and the examination report are delivered to the patient together.
