Nipt Testing: Genetic Testing of the Baby During Pregnancy
NIPT (Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing) is a highly reliable, easy, and fast screening test that offers the opportunity to screen for certain genetic conditions starting from the 10th week of pregnancy.
What are the Advantages of the NIPT Testing?
- EASY: The test is applied with 10 ml of blood starting from the 10th week of pregnancy,
- SAFE; There is no risk of miscarriage or infection.
Who Should Take the NIPT Test?
Although the NIPT testing is recommended for all pregnant women it is especially recommended for;
- Expectant mothers aged 35 and over at the time of the test
- Those who do not have a history of chromosomal disorders in previous pregnancies
- Persons with ultrasonographic findings showing an increased risk of aneuploidy (numerical change in chromosomes) in the fetus
- Confirmation of previous scan results
- Pregnant women who have received IVF treatment or have an increased risk such as a history of recurrent miscarriage, öneriliyor.
