By discussing with our patients' physicians, various complementary techniques that are beneficial for them and that do not adversely affect their illness or treatment can create positive results both physically and mentally. For example, various meditation and relaxation techniques (yoga, tai chi, worship, etc.), various mind or interest distraction techniques (doing art, listening to music, making music, traveling, etc.), hypnosis, or exercise will help the patient to relax. However, the patient should be in full agreement with the oncologist in all these activities.
